Gran Canaria is one of the Canary Islands. The Canary Islands are volcanic formations — formed of black rock. The stunning beaches of Gran Canaria have been created from the sand of the Sahara desert, blown across from Africa. If you need to make your own way, the local bus service is easy to use and inexpensive, and taxis are readily available. This is the main beach access point, and also where the nightlife is. Staying somewhere that has a pool gives you a back-up tanning option if the weather turns against you.

This was a last minute weekend trip to join some friends already staying at Tropical La Zona. The resort is completely hidden from outside view with a solid gate giving a secure and private feeling, great for relaxation. I haven't been to a gay only resort before, let alone a naturist one, so getting used to being naked in public did take a while. No one cared if I was in shorts or not, there's no pressure or expectations so you can choose your own level of comfort. The pool was very clean without any nasty tastes or stinging eyes and the rooms were spotless.
